Rated: G A car pulled up in front of a rather large high school. As it parked five young girls stepped out, each of them looked a bit nervous. They walked into the school and another student led them to a classroom. The teacher was in the middle of a lesson. “Who are these people?” asked the teacher. “These are the new students.” said the student. He handed her a paper and walked back out. “Class, I’d like to introduce you to five new students. Meet Mina Aino, Amy Anderson, Raye Hino, Lita Kino, and Serena Tsukino.” Sage was sitting at his desk carving his name into it. He looked up at the five new girls than looked back down. Rowen was reading a book about stargazing and didn’t even look up at the girls. Cye was being evil, as usual. There was this girl in front of him whose name was Brittany and everyone knew she had a crush on Kento and Cye. But Cye and Kento hated her beyond all the fires in hell. So, he took her hair, and started dipping it in glue. Kento was trying not to laugh, and Ryo was drawing gothic like pictures on his hand. “Lita go sit next to Sage and…SAGE! Stop vandalizing school property. This is your last warning. Next time you will get an expulsion.” “Bring it on. I am so scared of missing three days of school.” He put his pocketknife away and stared immorally at his teacher. “Amy go sit next to Rowen. Rowen please pay attention to the lesson. Put the book away.” “But I find that I learn a hell of a lot more from reading this book than when I listen to one of you stupid lessons.” He continued to read. The teacher sighed and continued to seat the girls. “Mina go and sit next to…CYE!!!! STOP DIPPING HER HAIR INTO THE GLUE, AND APOLOGIZE!” “Over my dead body will I ever apologize to her.” “Serena go sit next to Kento and Raye go sit next to Ryo. Boys raise your hands.” They all stared expressionless at the teacher. “Lita, I kind of don’t want to sit next to them.” said Amy. “It has its’ possibilities.” She said looking at Sage. He had begun to carve his name into the desk again. ~ School had been out for an hour and a half and still Lita was sitting in her car in the school parking lot. Her car died on her so the girls decided to ditch her and walk home. She occupied her mind thinking about Sage. There was a secret buried deep inside. Past the bad boy look, that kind of attracted her to him. “Do you need any help?” She turned to see who said that. Sage was standing right next to her door. “Yes I do. My car just died.” Sage walked around and popped the hood. Lita stepped out of the car and stood next to him. Sage started saying what was wrong with it using words Lita never knew existed. “You love cars don’t you?” she asked. “Yeah. I race them.” “I have a friend named Amara. She races cars too.” “I know. I’ve raced her.” “Well, if you call that a friend. She prefers to hang around much cooler, older kind of people. Um…could you live without cars?” “What? I uh, I guess I could live without them. I love them, but I don’t live for them.” “Well then, if you don’t mind me asking, what is your dream?” “That’s kind of a personal question.” He said sarcastically. “ Are you deliberately trying to become my friend?” He smiled. “So you do mind if I ask you.” “I don’t mind at all. But my dream is a little stupid.” “I promise I won’t make fun of it.” “Well then, my dream is to fall in love and raise a family. I want to be a great father and I want to be there for them. My father was a cop, so I barely saw him. And I want a wife that is not just beautiful but sweet and caring, smart, sensitive, and someone who will listen and hold me when I have a bad day.” He seemed to be on fast forward when he told her that. “Wow. That is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s beautiful.” “Thanks. I try telling this to my friends and they look at me funny as if my dream were weird. Do you think it’s weird?” “I told you, I think it’s beautiful.” Sage adjusted something and the car started. “So what’s your dream Lita?” They sat on the hood of the car. “I want to own a bakery and sell my own pastries and other things. You see, I love to cook, and my friends love my cooking. So I guess it works out. But my dream isn’t as pure and great as yours.” “Yes it is.” “No it’s not.” A high-pitched voice said. Sage and Lita turned to see a woman wearing an ugly blue outfit and had a fishbone print on the front. Sage didn’t know her, but Lita knew her as Fish Eye. “Your dream has drawn our attention, so you must have the special gold dream mirror.” “Who are you?” asked Sage. “The one and only Fish Eye. I want your dream mirror now. 1...2…3.” You know what happens, it’s just that instead of a gold or pink mirror his mirror was green. “Huh?” gasped Lita. “This is something new.” She thought. “What’s up with his dream mirror?” “Why is your dream mirror green?” Apparently Fish Eye had been wondering the same thing. “No matter, this is new and must be of great importance. Your dream may be of use to Zirconia.” “Listen Fish Fry, you have messed with the wrong person’s dream mirror.” Sage broke off the dream catcher and pulled his mirror back in. “I am a lot stronger than you think I am. You should really look into the people you try to take advantage of. Your plan might back fire.” “It’s quite alright, I think I am getting used to these losing battles. But this time I will win.” Sage’s eyes flashed and Lita could have sworn she saw a thunderstorm raging in the crystal blue color. Now she was really freaked out. “Do you really think you can kill me? Just try it.” “There is something wrong with your eyes. You aren’t a normal person are you? I can tell that you will win this battle. So until next time cutie…” She jumped into her portal and disappeared. “Do you know what you just did?” asked Lita. “Yes, I do.” He replied. “That was Fish Eye." “Yeah, what’s so great about Fish Face?” “Why was your mirror green?” Sage didn’t answer. He stared vacantly in front of him. “I got to go. My friends are waiting for me.” Sage took of running down the street. He disappeared into the horizon faster than Lita could scream, “Wait.” ~ Lita plopped down on her sofa and closed her eyes. All she wanted to do at that point was sleep. But she couldn’t because the girls were coming over for study buddies. She looked around and just realized how messy her apartment was. She hesitated and then got up. She started picking up and then the doorbell rang. “Coming.” She said. She walked to the door and looked through the peek hole. It was SERENA. SHE WAS EARLY. Lita opened the door and welcomed her friend in. “Hi Lita. Raye said I couldn’t get her early, so I bet her five bucks that I could.” “Well now that you are here, you can help me clean up.” “Aw, manual labor.” She moaned. “If this place isn’t clean, I can’t set the food up.” Serena set to work. “ Serena.” “What is it?” “Sage was attacked by Fish Eye today.” “Is he alright?” “Yeah. He scared her off. He actually broke off the dream catcher.” “How?” Serena stopped cleaning and looked up at her. “I don’t know, but his mirror, well this is the really strange part, his mirror was green.” “I didn’t know there were green mirrors. I guess he is just someone who has a pure dream. You should tell the other girls when they get here. They might know what they are talking about, because God knows I don’t.” “I fully intend to.” The doorbell rang again and this it was Amy. “Sorry I’m late guys.” “Amy, you’re early.” said Lita. “Oh sorry Lita. I saw Serena and thought I forgot to wind my watch.” “That’s so funny I forgot to laugh Ames.” murmured Serena. The doorbell rang five times. It was Raye’s secret code. “Oh my God, Serena is early.” “You owe me five dollars and an apology Raye.” “I’ll give you your money, but don’t expect anything more.” “Hi people.” Mina said as she just walked in and sat at the table. She was already equipped with her sailor V comic. “You guys.” said Serena. “Lita has something important to tell us.” So Lita told them the whole story about Sage and Fish Eye. “I say he is an enemy and we should smash him.” said Raye pounding her hand on the table. “Well he has me suspicious too, but I can’t just make an assumption. We should have evidence that he is our foe.” said Amy. “I think Amy’s right.” Mina Said. “Why’s that?” “Well Raye, what if he’s not an enemy right now? He obviously has strength and maybe even powers. If he is as friendly as to help Lita and discuss his dreams with her, perhaps he wants to be our friend. It would be great to have another ally.” “Did you think that all by yourself Mina?” asked Serena. Even if she didn’t she is right.” said Amy. “We just have to be wary and to be on the safe side we should watch his friends too. They could be targets of the Amazon Trio and one of them just might hold the dream mirror they are looking for.” “That sounds easier than it is. You’ve seen them haven’t you? They seem like they would rather slit themselves than talk to us. But I guess you are right. So has anyone gotten to know them?” asked Mina. Everybody turned to Lita. “He can’t be all that bad. He wants to have a family and a loving wife. He said his father was a cop and he barely saw him. He said he wanted to be what his father couldn’t be.” “What do you mean his father was a cop?” “What are you talking about Raye?” “Lita, is his father still a cop?” she asked. “I guess not.” “How do you know?” “He said he was a cop.” “Do you think that maybe hid father is dead?” “I never thought of that.” “Get to know him more.” “Well we can’t just get to know one.” said Amy. "We have to try and befriend all of them. I take the one with the blue hair. I think his name was Rowen." “I take Ryo.” said Raye. “I take Kento.” said Serena. Mina shivered as she thought about Cye dipping that poor girl’s hair in the glue. She should have spoken up sooner. |
