"Dream Part 5 - Bloody War" by Tengoko

“You mean Cye is my future husband?!” Mina yelled. “How is this possible? This can’t be accurate. Cye would rather kill me than marry me. It’s just a fact.”

“Mina, things will work out. I mean, look at Rowen and I.”

“Here comes another vision.”

This vision took place on the moon again, around the same time as the previous visions.

“Don’t worry Serena; I won’t let them get to you.” Darien was standing at the door ready to sheen his sword. He still loved Serena and it pained him to think that she didn’t love him back. Long ago there love was inseparable but now, she is in love with another man.

“Darien, you must go, please. I don’t want you to get hurt.” She knew if Kento found him there, He would kill him. Kento had never really liked Darien for the simple fact that Serena used to love him. Kento was a very jealous husband but he never really let it show. However, she didn’t want the last thought of Kento to be him angry.

“Serena I love you.” He said with the utmost sincerity. He slowly walked over to her and grabbed her hand. “You have to believe me.”

“Oh Darien, I believe you but I just don’t feel the same way about you anymore. You have to go now. If Kento finds you here he will kill you.”

“I don’t care. Let him find me. He will then see that the love that we have for each other is too great to separate. Serena you know that you are still in love with me, and I love you with all of my heart.”

“Darien I don’t love you! I love Kento.” At this point he was starting to annoy her and she hoped Kento would hurry up and find him. She didn’t want her last moments to be with Darien.

The doors to the throne opened. Kento walked hurriedly in with his weapon in his hand “Serena, we can’t fight them off any…YOU!!” His angry eyes stared hard at Darien.

“Get out of here. We don’t need your help. I know we are going to fail and we don’t need you here to remind us that.”

“I am here to help you win.”

“Why?” Kento asked

“I will let it be known to you and everyone on the moon kingdom. I love Serena. And not even you can take that away from me.”

“Want to bet?” Kento tackled him and they engaged in a fistfight. Serena looked at the throne doors and thought that it would be a better idea if they were closed. She ran over to shut them but they proved to be too heavy. Sekhmet walked in and with one hand he started closing the tall doors. Then he lowered the beam by pushing a brick next to the door.

“Amara sent me to try and keep the moon princess safe.” He looked at Serena. “You know how loyal she is to you. She said that she would stay behind to protect our kingdom but I must come and help you. She told me Uranus can fall and it won’t affect the outcome of the future, but if the moon fell the universe would be doomed. I just hope Amara will be okay.”

“If we can stop the army here she will be.”

“Serena come on.” Kento grabbed her hand and pulled her to the far corner of the room. She looked back at Darien. He was lying on the floor with a dagger in his chest. She felt no pity towards him. She told him to get out of there. She put her attention back on Kento. He opened a flap in the wall and entered a code. A trap door in the floor slid open.

“Go down there Serena. You’ll be safe in there.”

“Kento let me help you fight.”

“No I can’t do that. If I don’t make it we still need somebody who can rule our kingdom. So stay there and no matter what you see or hear do not come out. Don’t even make a sound and don’t breathe heavily. I am ready to die for you but you have to promise me that no matter what happens up here you won’t come out.”

“I promise you Kento.”

He kissed her and the lowered her into the compartment. “I love you Serena, and even if I don’t make it I will always be with you.”

“I love you too.” Kento entered the code and the trapdoor closed. There was a small opening and she could see Kento standing next to Sekhmet. They were talking but she couldn’t hear what it was about. Then she watched as they tensed up. She heard the doors to the throne room being forced open. Sekhmet charged into the battle and out of view. But she knew she would never see him again.

Kento stood his ground and began to fight off their enemy. He was doing pretty well considering the odds against him. But then as quickly as they had entered, they stuck their swords into him. He fell to the ground but he didn’t die. He grabbed his weapon again and killed another one. Again they stuck their swords into him but he refused to lose.

“Kill the Prince of the Moon!” It was a woman’s voice. Serena couldn’t see who had said it though. She looked back at Kento and saw two members of the army holding him while another one slit his throat. Finally he hit the floor and didn’t get back up. Serena put her hands over her mouth to keep from screaming. “She wasn’t in there my queen.” “Then keep looking. Find the moon princess and bring her to me.” Serena could hear footsteps on the floor. She saw a woman in a black dress and with a greenish skin color. She was holding something in her hand. Serena squinted her eyes to try and see the object. Next thing she knew, the woman stomped the floor on the trap door. Her foot went through and killed Serena.

“AGH!” Kento made a muffled scream.

“Kento shut up. You’ll wake up Ryo and Sage.”

“Hi Cye, Hi Rowen. What are you guys doing up?”

“Couldn’t sleep.” Said Rowen

“The one downside of training at the temple,” said Cye. “Is you have to sleep in bunk beds. I almost hit my head on the ceiling when I woke up.”

“The one downside of being a Ronin Warrior,” thought Kento. “is I am not allowed to be in love with Serena.”

“I guess Darien isn’t the man I end up with. Who would have though it would have been Kento?”

“Guys, I think the fire is showing me a vision from my past.” said Raye.

Sure enough the planet of Mars was in the distance. It was difficult to tell that is was Mars at first because it was, well like earth. There was a big battle going on though and blood from fallen soldiers was mixing into the dirt turning it red. Raye was in the middle of it.

She was equipped with a sword, shield, and a horse. The great thing about being under the watchful eye of the god of war was that you get the strongest weapons and armies in the inner sailor scout reach. But Raye wasn’t looking for people to kill. She was looking for her husband.

“Ryo, where are you?” He had promised to stay by her side while they were fighting. He said he wouldn’t leave her to fight by herself. Bu then again some times you don’t have control over things like this. It is a war. Still, she was angry that he wasn’t there.

She finally caught sight of him. “RYO!” She tried her best to get to him. She kicked her horse to go faster but there were too many people. A spear went into her horse’s neck and he threw her off.

“Ares! No.” She ran to her horse and ripped the spear out. It tried to stand back up so he could help her finish her task. Raye started to become scared for when she looked around her and saw death and destruction. The horse collapsed on the ground. “Ares! Don’t die. You will be okay you just have to ride a bit more and then you can rest. Please Arez.”

Her horse looked at her and Raye understood. The horse was saying an apology for not being able to help and that she would miss her terribly. “Ares.” She cried. “You have been my favorite horse for as long as I can remember. I will never forget you.” She kissed her horse on the top of its head and patted her on the side. “May you rest in piece my dear friend.”

Now she had to get to Ryo on foot. This task may sound easy to you but imagine that you are surrounded by millions of your enemies and hundreds of corpses. She took out her flame sword and started to hack her way through the mangled pile of lifeless soldiers and the horde of those fighting. She despised slaughter but in this case it was crucial.

Then she spotted him. Ryo was on his black stallion, Phobos. He was killing many of the enemies around him and yelling for the army to hang on. “RYO!” She yelled. His head hastily turned to see who was calling him. She smiled. He finally saw her. It wasn’t until she began to walk to him that she realized that he wasn’t smiling.

“Raye, look out!” Raye turned around and saw a spear coming directly at her. Ryo jumped from Phobos and the spear went into him. His limp, motionless body fell into her arms and she scarcely managed to keep him from hitting the soil. She lifted his head to see if she could keep him alive. And if she couldn’t so she could let know him that she loved him. But he was already deceased. The spear had killed him instantly. She looked back up with tears streaming down her face.

“Now it’s up to me to lead the army.” She said quietly. She stood up and mounted Phobos. Then she held up her blade and there was a vociferous cry from the soldiers. As soon as they saw that they knew that Ryo had died. Raye looked at his corpse and said,

“I will overcome the enemies that need to be conquered. I will avenge your death and provide evidence that love conquers all.” She blew a kiss at him and then rode deeper into the battle.

She swung her sword in every direction not concerned with who she killed at this point. She saw her steed now with many more spears in its body. She hadn’t realized she had once been in the midpoint of the fighting but now that she was there again she was going to make the most of it. “IN THE NAME OF LOVE AND JUSTICE!” she screamed.

The fight had finished finally. Raye was now on her feet because Phobos too had been speared. Raye was the only one on her feet. She walked over mangled corpses and puddles of blood. She had won but there was not much to embrace. She looked at her palace and it didn’t seem so magnificent any longer. The emerald planet had been tainted red by the hatred and carnage of war.

The wind picked up and the red dust flew into the atmosphere making the indigo sky the same shade as the soil. Raye couldn’t find Ryo’s remains and she doubted she ever would. She began thinking of perhaps digging ditches and putting the lifeless bodies in there. There was no way she would be able to recognize them all.

She walked to the sea in front of her palace and realized the crimson blood had polluted it. The planet had been ruined even though it was saved.

“So you did manage to win.” She spun around and saw a woman in a black dress and a greenish skin tone.

“I didn’t succeed. There is no winning in war.”

“You are the only one living so you won the war. It’s as plain as that.”

“Do you not see my world?! DO YOU NOT SEE THE AFFLICTION WE ARE CAUSING! PEOPLE DIED AND THEY DIDN’T HAVE TOO!”

“THEY WERE MY PEOPLE AND THERE ARE PLENTY TO SPARE!”

“You are their General? You are the sovereign that they talk about?” Raye reached for her sword but the queen was quicker in her actions. A black orb that she held in her hand released a violet smoke that seemed to claw it’s way deep into Raye’s body. She struggled to take in air and fell to her knees holding her chest and her throat.

“Don’t mess with me princess. I have powers you can only dream of. And now it will only be in dream where you will see me. You will not survive past today.”

“Raye! No!” Ryo looked around and saw that he was in the temple’s quarters.

“Raye-no?” said Cye in a monotone yet sarcastic way.

“Ryo has a crush on Raye.” said Kento.

Ryo lay back down and wiped his face with his hands. He did have a crush on Raye. But he couldn’t act upon it or he would be a hypocrite. What would Sage say if he knew?
