"Dream Part 6 - Rekindled Love and New Alliances" by Tengoko

Rated: G

“No way is Ryo my future husband. I don’t believe that he will ever sacrifice himself for me...Oh look, the final vision.”

Lita was sitting in her rose garden on Jupiter. The planet was green and full of trees and plants and various flowers. It generally made her feel better just to sit outside with her roses and just kill time. But it is hard to lighten up when you know the worst is still around the bend. She knew that her friends were dead and that the army was coming to Jupiter. She picked a rose then got up and went into the palace. She saw the General of the Army, Raziel.

“Raziel, I order you to double the guards at the gate.” she said disguising her discomfort. “I want us to hold them off as long as possible.”

“That order has already been made, and is being carried out as we speak.” He bowed and turned to walk to the entrance hall.

“How are we doing?” she asked.

“We can’t afford to lose any more men. Jupiter is going to fall this time, it is inevitable. But the prince said that we are not going to surrender and that if Jupiter falls it would mean that we would all be dead…is that all your majesty?”

“Yes, for now. I wish you good luck Raziel, and if I don’t see you again, good bye.” He bowed once more and continued his journey to the doors. Lita looked down the corridor and soldiers who were well aware that they would not make it through the day backed it up. She used every ounce of will power to hold the tears back. They were all so youthful and already they knew that they would die for what they believed in.

She walked into the throne room. Unlike the other palaces they only had three walls. In place of the fourth wall was a window, and Sage was looking out at the battle. The atmosphere had turned an ill-omened red and it shown into the room. Sage was standing in the core of a shadow so Lita could only see half of him.

“Sage I’m frightened.” She ran over to him. Panic now plagued her body and soon she knew she would lose optimism. “We are going to die aren’t we? I can feel death beckoning us this very second.” Sage held out his hand so she could take hold of it.

“We are going to stop the army here, or we are going to die trying. I told the soldiers to protect you at all costs and not to worry about me.” He hugged her tight and lovingly planted kisses on her face.

“I love it when you do that.”

“I know.” He said pausing and then continuing. She always felt sheltered when he kissed her like that. And she wished that she had all the time in the world so he could just hold her. But she knew that they didn’t. The army was coming nearer. Then the window shattered. Glass pieces flew everywhere and thousands of Jupiter’s soldiers came in to protect them.

Ladders and ropes were being set up in an attempt to get into the throne room. Sage took out his sword and walked to the front. Lita looked down at the horde climbing up.

“Sage, you can’t possibly fight of that many!” she yelled

“I told you, we will stop them, or we will die trying.”

“Sage we can still get out of here, we can still endure.” Her eyes watered and tears started falling. “If you die I don’t want them to save me. I can’t live without you.” Sage, at first reluctant softened when he saw the tears. He looked into her eyes and understood the feelings within her. He felt so terrible for her that he wished he could take her into his arms and hug her there forever. Even though he knew escape was futile, He grabbed her hand.

“Okay, we’ll run.” He said in a tone of voice that he had never used before. Lita knew what it meant, he felt like a quitter.

“Sage, if you don’t want to come with me, if you want to fight you can stay. I don’t want you to feel like you have disappointed your men.”

“Lita, I want you to get out of here alive and I know that the only way for you to go willingly is for me to take you myself.”

He took her down a passage lined with colossal windows. Lita looked outside of them and saw exactly what the pain and grief caused by a meaningless war was like. She could see pools of thick crimson blood and the men wearing Jupiter’s color were dying at a rapid rate.

All of a sudden Sage stopped. Right in front of them was a fraction the opposing army. He turned around and started running the other way, but the rest of the army was there. Lita started panicking and she knew that her day had come. Sage hugged her, put his arm around her head and jumped out the window. Glass was flying everywhere. There was glass in his face, in his eye, and his arm. His arm kept the glass from Lita’s head. They rolled when the finally hit the ground. Then he stood up and helped Lita to her feet. He made her run in front of him, and when she turned around to check on him, she noticed he was limping.

“Are you all right?”

“I’m okay, just keep running.” The grass was so towering; you couldn’t see two feet in front of you. Sage looked behind him at the palace. It was about 100 yards behind him, and it was burning. The blasted army was burning down his palace. They came out of the grass and into a woman in black. Her skin was kind of green and she was holding something.

“Who are you?” Sage asked.

“You don’t know? Look harder Halo. I once cherished you with all of my heart and now you love that little slut. You dumped me for my heir and now you will pay.”

“Is that what this war is about Opal? You killed billions of people and the protectors of every planet just to get retribution on us. These deaths are for nothing, stop this.”

Opal laughed. “This is droll, you are giving me orders?” she laughed harder. “I won’t stop. This isn’t about vengeance it is about power. I want to have the cosmos under my thumb, to have everything in the galaxy obey my every command. That is what I want but revenge just makes the plan extra sweet. If I don’t eradicate you now you will lead an army to kill me. As if you could but it would still be an annoyance.”

“So you just want power. Eventually somebody will come and overwhelm you.”

“I’d like to see that day. I have the gift of immortality and if you can find the Sailor Scout that can expel me then…well…then she ought to pat herself on the back, but you won’t because your life is about to be cut short.”

“I will never die on Lita.” He held her tighter than he has ever held her before. “I promise I will never leave you.” He whispered into her ear.

“I command you two to divide.” They could feel the force trying to pull them apart, but Sage wouldn’t let her go. He held on with all his might. Lita looked at him and felt like crying. There were cuts all over his face, and blood was running out of his eye, and off his arm. Each of them was because of her.

“Oh I give up with this. Be gone.” said the woman. A black surge of energy shot out of the item in her hand and threw them back towards the palace. Sage positioned himself so after they went the football field distance to the palace, he would strike the wall and not her. They were going at least ninety miles per hour and when he hit the wall he broke all of his ribs. Three of his ribs punctured his lungs.

“Come on Sage.” Lita tried to help him up. Sage could hardly breathe.

“Lita, I...want you…to, run. Stay…low to…the ground. I…will. I will find you…again. I…Love…You…” He pulled her close and kissed her. Then blood trickled out of his mouth, and he died.

Lita didn’t know what to do. She debated whether she should just stay in his arms and let the fire engulf them both. But then the war, everybody who died for her would have died in vain. He died so she could get away it wasn’t going to be for nothing. She could at least try to get away. She kissed him on his cheek and looked at him for a moment. He looked like he was simply sleeping after a battle.

It reminded her of the old days when he would go and fight for the moon kingdom and come back all bruised and broken. She had never seen him shed tears no matter how severe the injuries were. It made him seem so indestructible. Then after, she would tend to his wounds he would fall asleep with her in his arms. But now those days were over. He will never wake up. He will never again feel her in his arms. She will never again be in his arms. She wiped away tears and crawled away.

She did as she was told and stayed low to the ground. She would do her best to get away from the palace. But the fury was rising inside of her and she couldn’t take it anymore.

She stood up and yelled, “SHOW YOURSELF YOU COWARDLY WITCH! YOU KILLED MY HUSBAND! I WILL KILL YOU!” The woman showed up.

“So I succeeded in killing him. Good riddance. That husband of yours will no longer attempt to annihilate my army. And neither will you.” The same rush of energy threw her back into the wall and cracked her cranium and backbone. She fell into Sage’s arms and gradually died, but not in pain because she was in his arms again forever.

The fire died.

“Lita.” said Sage. He didn’t pop out of bed like the others had. He sat up unhurriedly thinking to himself. In the middle of the floor the guys were playing poker.

“Oh, you’re up.” said Kento. “Want to play? Ryo’s whipping us all and it’s starting to get a little degrading.”

“No thanks. Have you all had nightmares?”

“Yeah, they seemed so valid.” said Rowen. “But they were just our sub conscience messing with our brains. If Lita was on your mind before you went to bed than it is no wonder why you dreamt about her.”

“No. I think it is more than that.”

“You mean, it is likely that Mina and I had a relationship in a past life?”

“Yes but not just in this one. I made a pledge to find her and I don’t think our souls will rest until we complete what we set out to do. I think there is much more to the nightmares than we will ever permit ourselves to understand.”

“That’s profound Sage. I mean really profound.” Ryo said

“You know what would be odd?” asked Kento. “What if the girls knew about this too.”

“I have to go.” He pulled on his coat and walked out.

“I won.” Ryo said.

“WHAT!”

He drove into the forest and stopped when he got to a waterfall. “This calls for some major meditating.” He said pulling his coat off. “I need to find out the meaning of the dream.”

“This is so perplexing, I barely know her. I have never been so worked up over a girl before. I can barely contemplate because of her. Man, I hate this. I thought love was supposed to be great so why is it freaking confusing? Oh Ancient one, I need your help. Tell me why I feel this way about her.”

The wind began to blow and soft whispers carried through the gust. “Sage I think that you know the answer and I don’t need to tell you.”

“I can’t be though. I’ve never been in love before.”

“It’s a beautiful thing Sage. But it just doesn’t come in go. Embrace what you have got because if you don’t it might leave you and will be gone forever. You have been waiting for her for many lifetimes. And though you may have found her, your missions were still not complete. As for the rest of your friends the same lesson applies. You know what you must do.”

“Aren’t we prohibited to be together?”

“Sage of Halo, it will be complicated but you two are not damned lovers. Just tell her how you feel and everything will unravel.”

“Thank you Ancient One.” Sage opened his eyes and stood up. He knew it was late at night but he had to find Lita.

He went to her apartment and banged on the door. When nobody answered, he assumed that she was in a deep sleep. He sunk to the ground and put his head on his knees. Then a car pulled up that he recognized because he had helped fix it. The door opened and Lita stepped out looking down at the floor.

“LITA!” He called standing up as fast as he could.

“Sage?” she saw Sage running towards her.

“Lita, I have been looking for you.” He stopped about two inches in front of her. “I can’t stop thinking about you, and I think you know why. My dreams that I told you were real I just didn’t want to project weakness to my friends. But now I don’t care because I think I’m in love with you, and I only hope that you can forgive me for the way I have been acting.”

“I forgive you Sage.” Lita was holding back tears. “I love you Sage. The first day I saw you I loved you.” They stood there for a minute just staring at each other, but then Lita ran into his arms and started crying. He wanted to calm her but all he could think to do was hug her so he pulled her closer and started planting soft gentle kisses on her face.

Lita was waiting for a moment like this since the first time she met him. His soft kisses made her feel all warm inside. She never wanted him to stop; she wanted it to stay like this forever. She looked up at him because he had finished kissing her. She stared directly into his eyes. They got closer and their mouths opened a little, closer, their eyes closed. They were inches apart closer and closer. Almost there…

“Am I interrupting anything?” said an abrupt voice. Sage and Lita looked up to see Fish Eye.

“You again?” asked Sage. He breathed a frustrated groan as he let go of Lita and pushed her behind him slightly. “I thought I taught you a lesson last time we met. But then again I heard people like you never learn.”

“I’m not here for you.” Lita noticed Sage tensed up. If they weren’t there for him, she was there for her.

“If you touch her I’ll kill you.”

“I won’t touch her.” She said matter-of-factly. TIGER’S EYE, HAWK’S EYE!!”

Sage and Lita turned around. “There are more of them?” whined Sage.

“We are the Amazon Trio and we are searching for pure and innocent dreams.”

“Well good for you.” Sage transformed. “I Sage of Halo and I will kill you if you don’t stop your search for pure and innocent dreams.”

“You are strong and clever Sage.” said Hawk’s Eye. “But we are evil and we cheat. You can’t beat us.”

“I’ve beaten cheaters before.”

“I’m tired of talking.” said Tiger’s Eye. He swung his whip around Sage’s shadow on the tree.

“I…I can’t move.” said Sage. Lita knew what she had to do.

“Sage, I am going to help you but please don’t die of shock. JUPITER CRYSTAL POWER!!!” Sage’s eyes got huge.

“You’re Sailor Jupiter?!”

“Yes Sage. I’ll take care of them. JUPITER OAK EVOLUTION!!” Razor leaves went flying at Tiger and Hawk Eye.

Now everything made sense. Why his dream took place on Jupiter. Why she was the princess, why he was the prince. Why he loved her. He had to aid her. Just then a portal opened up from the sky and a black hand came down and grabbed Lita. It started taking her up.

“LITA! STOP, LEAVE HER ALONE!!”

“URANUS WORLD SHAKING!!” A golden orb hit the arm and let go of Lita.

Cherry blossoms started flying everywhere. “When ever and where ever a scout is in danger I will be there to demolish the enemies into the earth, I am Sailor Uranus, and I will show you what real pain is.”

“Friendship will always triumph over injustice, malevolence, and hatred. I, Sailor Neptune will drown the evils of the world.”

“The time of judgment is now Amazon Trio. The glory you once had will die away for evermore. I am Sailor Pluto the keeper of time.”

“I have come to stop your irresponsible and useless behavior. If you don’t stop I Sailor Saturn the Sailor Scout of Destruction will silence you.”

“Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. You came.”

“We will always be there when a scout needs our help” Said Sailor Neptune. “That is including a scout’s friend. NEPTUNE SUBMARINE REFLECTION!!!” The navy orb of energy hit Tiger’s Eye and the whip came off of Sage’s shadow.

Fish Eye rushed to attack him, but stopped when he swung his sword. “What are you planning?”

“THUNDER BOLT CUT!” An electric flow of energy beyond anything the sailor scouts had ever seen obliterated Fish Eye. Tiger’s Eye knew what to do. He wrapped his whip around Lita a jumped into his fire portal. Hawk’s Eye jumped through his earth portal.

“LITA!” screamed Sage. He ran to where she vanished.

“Halo.” Sage turned around. “We will assist you to get her back. With the help of the other sailor scouts it will still be complex, but with the help of the Ronin Warriors, the task should be rather simple.” said Saturn. “So find your friends, and we will get ours, and we will meet back here in thirty minutes.”
