Rated: G Christi was walking downtown by herself for once. Her green hair was pulled back into a ponytail and she wore sunglasses. You had to admit that she had an exceptional sense of style. She was wearing black jeans, a camouflage shirt and a black denim jacket. She also had black boots and a black purse. Perhaps this is why every boy she passed looked at her as though she was a goddess come to earth. She was conscious of this and smiled to herself. She casually made her way to the Tokyo Tower and took the elevator straight to the top. She walked out and took out her transforming wand. “Where are you hiding.” she said simply. “Come out come out where ever you are.” The enormous Nefariad stepped out from behind a metal support. He looked terrified at the sight of Christi. “What did I tell you about the Ronin Warriors? The only reason we are allowing you to live is so you can destroy them. Then when two of them fall into your hands you fail disgustingly. You are useless. I suppose I am going to have to kill them myself which means I have no reason to let you live.” She was about to transform but stopped when the creature held up his hands to have her wait. He stuck up one skeletal finger. “I’ll give you one more chance then. However, if you make one more mistake I will kill you. Now, what happened to your army? I know the ones Torrent and Hardrock killed were not the only ones.” He stood up a bit taller and about a hundred smaller versions of him crawled out of hiding places in the ceiling, the walls, and the floor. “Don’t disappoint me again. Do you understand?” she said severely. He nodded. She turned around and entered the elevator again. As she began to stroll downtown again she slid down her sunglasses and winked at the next passing guy. He seemed to lose his breath and go weak at the knees. He watched her walk away as she slowly disappeared over the horizon. They had all fallen asleep at Sage’s house. Lita was in Sage’s arms as they slept on the arm chair. Rowen and Amy had fallen asleep on the couch, Ryo was still against the wall but now he was sitting down. Kento and Cye had fallen asleep on the floor. Sage was the first to wake up. He looked at Lita and realized that she was having a very disturbed slumber. He shook her lightly but she continued to sleep. Maybe it wasn’t a bad dream. He didn’t want to wake her for no reason. He gently picked her up and set her down on the chair again while he went to the restroom. Amy was the next to wake. She looked at Rowen and hoped that he was having a dreamless sleep. The she noticed that Lita was beginning to thrash around a bit. She stood up and walked over to her. “Lita...” she whispered. Sage came out of the bathroom about a minute later and he knelt down next to Lita. He looked at Amy who was beginning to panic and Amy looked at him and was astonished that he was calm. He put his hand on Lita’s forehead and then he kissed her cheek. She woke up with a small jump. “...Sage?” “I’m right her sweet heart. It’s okay I’m here.” He bent over her and she threw her arms around him and cried. “Did you dream about her?” he asked softly. She nodded slowly and he wiped tears falling from her eyes. “It’s alright Lita. It’s okay to be sad. Just let it out.” He picked her up again, sat in the chair, and put her down in his lap. He began to hum a song into her ear. This seemed to calm Lita down. Amy went back to the couch and when she sat down it woke Rowen up. He looked around for a bit and then he grabbed Amy’s hand. She looked at him and then lay back down. “Lita had a nightmare about Raye.” He looked at Sage and Lita. Lita’s arms were wrapped around him and his eyes were closed and he was still humming a song. “Is she okay?” “I think she’ll be fine as long as she has Sage.” Amy stood up and went to the restroom. Rowen lay motionless for a few seconds and then he sluggishly sat up. He stared unblinking out of the window and then his eyes moved towards Ryo. “She’d be lying next to him right now if she were still alive.” said Rowen. Sage’s eyes opened and he and Lita looked at him. “It doesn’t feel like she is not here. It’s as if it were just a horrific nightmare. That’s why I was so upset when I woke up and I wasn’t in my room. It only confirmed what had happened earlier. My little sister is dead. Why did my little sister have to die?” He once again buried his face in his hands and wept. Sage and Lita went over to him and sat on either side of him. They had no idea what to tell him. “I know how you feel.” said Sage. “It’s hard to believe I know, but I feel like you do. I lost my little sisters too. Serena, Mina, and Raye didn’t deserve to die. They were so young and naive and maybe that is why it’s even harder to understand their death. I also know the feeling that you would give your life in a second if it meant bringing them back.” “I would.” Rowen cried. “I’d do anything to bring her back. She has her whole life to live. She didn’t even get to graduate from high school.” “But your sister did a lot of things that most people will never do. If it weren’t for your sister a lot of people would be dead. The world would be over. Your sister saved peoples lives. On top of that she was very close to you. She knows that you loved her and you got to live every moment with her. You never lost a second...” Sage’s voice broke. “Are you okay Sage?” Lita asked. Rowen moved his hands and looked at Sage. He was about to cry too. Amy came out of the bathroom and sat in Rowen’s lap. Rowen held her tight but still looked at Sage with concern. “What’s on your mind?” he asked. “I lost so many moments with Serena. I always had a good bond with Mina but Serena and I...Serena and I were never very close. I regret that so much now. I always thought that she was just a kid that could never understand me but I didn’t even give her the chance.” He started to cry heavily and Cye and Ryo woke up. “I never realized how special she was to me until it was too late. I mean, I always loved her. I know that I loved her. But I didn’t...I don’t know my sister. She lived with me my whole life and I don’t even know her. And it’s entirely my fault.” Lita stood up and held him. “Sage, Serena knows that you love her. You got to tell her, didn’t you?” “Five minutes of sibling bonding doesn’t make up for seventeen years of ignoring her. She must have thought that I hated her or loved her less than Mina.” He looked at Rowen now. “Don’t you see Rowen? You knew your sister and you joked and fought and comforted and loved her too. I only loved and fought with mine. She knows how much you love her; mine doesn’t even know how much I love her.” Rowen looked at him with a sympathetic look. For the first time Sage had spoken his pain openly to all of them. For the first time Rowen saw a part of Sage that he never had seen. He saw the love that Sage had for his sisters and how much he would give to have a second chance. Kento woke up. “...What’d I miss?” They all decided to go for a walk to try to take their minds off of certain things. They passed a shoe store that had many beautiful shoes in the window. Ryo stopped and looked at them. “Raye would’ve loved those shoes.” “Come on Ryo.” said Kento dragging him away. “Don’t think about it.” “Hey Ryo, wait up.” Anubis yelled to him. Dais, Sekhmet, and Cale were right behind him running towards them. “We need to talk to you guys.” “Well we’d be happy to do that,” said Rowen, “but I don’t want to send Amy off to some place where I would be able to be stopped if I needed to help her. So what ever you have to say to us, you can say in front of them. Sorry Anubis, but that’s the way it’s going to be until the new Sailor Moon’s leave.” “Don’t call me Anubis. Our new names while we’re in public are Andy, Dustin, Seth, and Kyle. Listen, Trista said that you all are taking the Nefariad threat to lightly. She thinks you should destroy them and then worry about taking on the other threat.” “That would sound good,” began Kento, “if the nefariads were easy to kill and the Moon’s are killing us all. Right now we are worrying about the more dangerous threat and then we will take care of the other one.” “I think you should take care of both at the same time.” Makura walked up to them all. Apparently he was in less of a hurry to get to them than the other ex-warlords. “By the way, call me Mark. If they are so easy to kill Kento, why not kill them now so you won’t have to worry about them later?” “I have a better idea.” said Sage. “You guys can take care of the nefariads and we will take care of the Moons. I really want to kill one of them as soon as possible.” “I don’t think you have that choice.” Dustin said. “And why is that?” “Because the nefariads are here. Transform...NOW!” They all transformed, except for Amy because Rowen wouldn’t let her. “Where are they?” As soon as those words left Ryo’s mouth, a dozen of the creatures popped out from underneath a sewer lid and attacked. Cye began to beat the crap out of any nefariad that came near him. On one of the occasions he punched so hard his hand went through the stomach of one. His right arm was covered in the yellow blood. Kento also decided to use brute strength instead of his powers. He elbowed, kicked, punched, and even bit the ones that attacked him. More and more of the creatures came out of the sewer. Ryo decided not to bother with punching. Instead he was cutting them with his swords. Sage was chopping off the heads of any that came close to him. “There’s so many of them.” he shouted. The ex-warlords and Makura had formed a circle where they were back to back and the fought like that. Lita kept throwing electricity at them and Rowen either shot them with an arrow or hit them with his bow. He wouldn’t leave Amy’s side for one minute. For every one they killed ten more came from the ground. “ANUBIS!” screamed Sage. “TAKE THE GIRLS OUT OF HERE!” The circle was broken as the ex-warlords made their way to Amy and Lita. “I am not leaving you Sage.” said Lita. “Lita go with them.” “No Sage. I’m not...” “I SAID GO!” He had never yelled at Lita before. “They’re leaving.” said Cye. And indeed they were disappearing into the sewer. Lita was still staring at Sage. “You didn’t have to yell at me.” she said. “Lita...when I tell you to go it’s for a good reason. I just don’t tell you stuff so you can check your hearing. So next time, do what I say and I won’t yell.” “That’s no excuse. I did nothing wrong. It’s my job to fight and protect. I’m not going to let anybody get in the way of my job not even you.” “Lita, don’t make a big deal out of this.” “IT IS A BIG DEAL! YOU DON’T TRUST ME TO FIGHT!” “It’s not that I don’t trust you to fight. I know you can fight. I just don’t want you to get hurt.” “I’m sure that’s why you are doing it then.” she said sarcastically. “Why do you think I’m doing it then?” “To prove that men can do more than we can.” “That is so not true and you know it. Lita, let’s discuss this later. Not in front of the guys.” “Don’t want to be embarrassed in front of them?” “What do you want from me!? I only tell you to go so I can protect you. The last thing I want is for you to die too.” “I don’t need you to protect me. I can protect myself.” “I know you can.” “Then when we fight leave me alone.” Sage began to say something and suddenly Lita began to talk at the same time and their voices got louder and louder. This went on for at least two minutes until Lita said, “...I HATE YOU!” |
