"True Moon - Part 16" by Tengoko

Rowen stood between Sage and Amy for fear that Sage would spring at at her and kill her. Sage stared at her with clenched fists and his face had turned scarlet and his jaw was locked. Ryo stood up and amazingly he was as angry as Sage.

“Amy,” he said. “Due to the fact that Sage is too angry and terrified to speak I will talk for him and say what I think he wants to say. HOW COULD YOU!? If Lita dies do you realize that the only Sailor Scout left is you? As smart as you are Amy I can’t believe you didn’t think of that?”

“I DID THINK ABOUT THAT! HOW DARE YOU PRESUME THAT I AM THAT COLD HEARTED! She’s my friend too...she’s almost like my sister. Of course I thought of that. You guys are not the only ones hurting. Mina, and Serena, and Raye, and Lita are not just your friends. You know what? I don’t like the way you are all looking at me and I don’t have to take it. I’m out of here.”

“Amy...” said Rowen and he grabbed her arm lightly.

“What Rowen? What are you going to say now? It’s as though you have something to say for every circumstance to fix every thing but you can’t fix this! This is my mistake and I have to live with it. I have to live with the fact that I could have saved Mina effortlessly but my own fear held me back. I have to live with the reality that I knew Serena was going to do something stupid but was too scared to stop her because I would have been yelled at. I could have saved Raye but I was too afraid because of the flames. And now I have to live with the fact that I let Lita go off to her own death and I didn’t prevent her. I have to live with that! You don’t! I was too scared to stop their deaths because of my hatred for confrontation. And part of me was resentful. I was jealous because they have always had more power than me. I’ve always been too pathetic to help them. So I have to live with the fact that I didn’t save them because I was jealous of them. Do you know how hard that is? I loved them all like sisters and I let them die because of my selfishness!”

“Amy, you are being too hard on yourself. We all could have stopped their deaths. You seriously don’t think that we didn’t have the power to save them?” Rowen looked at his feet.

Cye stood up and walked over to Amy. “Do you remember how close I was to Mina before she died? I was right there...I was on top of her and she was dying right in front of my eyes just a few feet away. I hesitated because of my fear and because of that Mina died.”

“Cye and I both knew that Serena was going to do something stupid but we didn’t stop her. In the future I will still never know why I didn’t stop her. I know I could’ve saved Raye. I had more power too that anybody.”

“Sage and I were by Serena’s side when she died. I don’t think she should have. We took their powers to lightly and because of us Serena is dead. Had we not been so easily hypnotized they would all still be alive.”

Rowen pulled Amy into his arms and closed his eyes. “Amy, your heart is too pure to be responsible for the deaths of your friends. Your hands are to clean. Our hands have been stained by the blood of our enemies and our friends. For people like you, and Raye, and Lita, and Mina, and Serena to come and touch our lives is a privilege too great for people like us. Even though they were in our lives shortly we are grateful for the time they were in it.”

“She could still be alive.” said Sage finally. “We have to find her.”

They all nodded and then Amy began to shake. “Sweet heart,” Rowen held her out. “Amy, Amy look at me!”

Her body went limp and Rowen laid her down. Her eyes opened and they had a glazed look. She sat up slowly and stared straight ahead of her. She began to speak in a different voice.

“All of you pay attention to me, listen to my prophecy. Nine will come, five will go; ten will battle for all they know. Five will survive, five will expire, and the rest must go on, though they’re tired. One will help, four will try, but even these four will die. Five more will come and fight till the death, but during this time they’ll breathe their last breath. The one who does not fight is not what she seems, for she will obliterate you, once she finds the means. Four are in danger by the hand of five, though this may be, they will stay alive. The five that fight must agree, who will awaken Oberon and me. It must be right or the world will crumble, so in this resolution, do not stumble. I’ll give you these five clues now, and to solve, I’m sure one of you knows how. The Sailors of Justice can not awaken, if the proper precautions aren’t taken. The one of light is not the one but he plays a big part if the battle’s to be won. The one of water has a pure heart, and he could very well make a start. The way you start I cannot tell, but if you don’t the world will go to hell. The one who can reach my heart’s desire is the man of the element, fire. The one who can bring the prince to his wife, is the one with the influence of life. The only way to awaken me is to keep in mind that justice is the key. In your life a little rain will fall, but we have the power to end it all.”

She fell back down to the ground. The five guys just stood there in surprise. “Five will survive, five will expire? Does that mean...” Rowen picked Amy up and rocked her back and forth.

“It means no matter what...Lita is...she’s dead. Nevertheless, I’ve got to get to her.”

Lita staggered through sinister alley-ways hoping to find a shortcut home. She held her stomach where she had been sliced and she let her broken arm hang by her side. Her left eye was swollen shut and she was bleeding profusely from the head. She knew the injuries done to her would kill her sooner than later but she had to somehow get to Sage. She tripped over her own feet and found that she didn’t have the strength to stand back up.

She closed her eye and listened to the silence. Then it was broken by multiple footsteps. Had they come back to finish her off? She heard a familiar voice shouting and then at least one of them began to run to her. She felt the person falling to their knees beside her and the picked her up into their arms.

“S...Sage. Is...is that...you?” She opened her eye and saw his blue eyes staring back into hers. Tears were falling from them and he leaned closer to her and kissed her. Lita smiled.

“I thought I’d never see you again!” he cried. “Lita, I have to heal you okay. Just hold on a minute.”

“No...Sage there isn’t...ugh...there isn’t....time.”

“Lita, I will not let you die. You promised you would never leave me.”

“...Sorry. I...love...you.”

“I love you too.” He put his hand next to her face and stroked her cheek tenderly with his thumb. “I won’t let you leave me sweetie.”

“...bye...” Her body went limp and her head fell a little. Sage picked her up more and buried his face in her chest. He sobbed loudly and said things that the others could not figure out. He lifted his head and shook her a little.

“Lita? Lita wake up.” He shook her harder. “Wake up Lita!” and harder. “OH GOD LITA PLEASE WAKE UP! YOU CAN’T LEAVE ME! WAKE UP LITA PLEASE! OH GOD...OH GOD PLEASE!” During this time he shook her fiercely.

“Sage...SAGE!” Rowen grabbed Sage by the shoulders to still him. He took Lita from him and set her down gently. “Sage, she is gone. She’s gone.”

“No! She can’t be gone. I want her here. I want them all here. Why would God take them away from us? What have we done that needs punishing? Why do we deserve to lose everything we love?” He lay down next to her and draped his arm over her body. “I won’t believe that she is gone. I don’t want to!”

“Sage, we have to get out of here.” said Ryo. “Come on Sage. We can’t stay.”

“I’ll stay with her forever.”

“Sage! She’s gone!” Rowen yelled. “I’m sorry but you have to accept that! There’s only one way to bring her back and that’s to figure out how to wake up the Sailors of Justice. I think I have the prophecy figured out but...well actually...it was laid right in front of us. I’m not sure if it will bring them back but they can stop it.”

They were back at Cye’s house listening to Rowen tell them what the prophecy meant. Amy tried to help whenever she could.

“Okay, it starts out with nine will come, five will go. When the Sailor Moons first encountered Serena and me they were all on one team for lack of better words. When Serena refused to give up her throne five of the Moons split from the original team. Ten will battle for all they know. That would be the Ronin Warriors plus the Inner Sailor Scouts. Five will survive, five will expire. Four of the ten have already died. That means that one more will die.” He looked quickly at Amy and then away.

“That person would be me.” said Amy with a small terrified voice.

“We don’t know that.” said Rowen.

“Yes you do. You know as well as I do that I’m going to die soon.”

“WE DON’T KNOW THAT!” he cried. That silenced Amy. “Now...let me finish. One will help, four will try, but even these four will die. I think that they are talking about the Outer Sailor Scouts. I still don’t know who is trying to help. Five more will come and fight till the death, but during this time they’ll breathe their last breath. This could be the ex-warlords and Makura. The one who does not fight is not what she seems, for she will obliterate you, once she finds the means. I think this is the person who helps but doesn’t fight. If I think about it, this is a long shot, but it could be Mia.”

“No way!” said Ryo. “Mia wouldn’t ever put us in danger. She is our friend and she’s helped us in the past. She wants to help the world she’d never cooperate to destroy it. Rowen you’re right...it is a long shot.”

“Think about it Ryo. Nobody could help us more than she could. She knows every thing about our armor. More than we know about it. Don’t you think that the Moons that Europa is leading would know this? Don’t you think that once she finds out that Sage will never love her again because of Lita she’ll just help us? Before we left she said she knew Sage would never stop loving her and when she wanted him back he’d come running.”

“She said that?” Sage laughed maliciously. “I never go back to the same girl twice. Lita was the only exception and that’s because I never meant to leave her in the first place.”

“Anyway, Mia will try and get Sage back. I know this. I also happened to know Sage won’t go back to her.”

“Not now...not ever. If she is the one who will try and destroy us she will have a hell of a time doing it. Now that Rowen said that I will not let her out of my sight.”

“Careful Sage. She might take that the wrong way. She’ll think that you want her back. I think Kento or Cye should be one of the ones who keep an eye on her.”

“I think it should be you Rowen.” said Cye. “She knows Amy is still alive and she’ll know that you and Amy are supposed to have a baby. It’ll be safer this way because she’ll know that you won’t go for her and you know what to look for.”

“Four are in danger by the hand of five, though this may be, they will stay alive.” Sage said. “This would be Europa, Io, Ganymede, and Titan. They are constantly being threatened by Calisto and so on and so forth. Do you want to continue this Rowen or should I?”

“I see you have it figured out too. If you want to go ahead Sage.”

“The five that fight must agree, who will awaken Oberon and me. That means we must figure out the ones who’ll wake up Oberon and Titania.”

“Titania?”

“Everybody knows that Oberon and Titania are husband and w...wife.” He stopped talking for a while and stared blankly in front of him. “I was going to propose to Lita on Christmas day. I had the ring picked out and everything. Rowen, do you think that when we awaken the Sailors of Justice they can bring Lita back?”

“I don’t know.”
